Crown Land for Residential Development

The Township of Baldwin is exploring the purchase of crown land for residential development:

President's Message

It has come to our attention that you may have received this letter and map (sent only to residents within a 1km radius of the proposed purchase area) from the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR). This letter details the proposed purchase of Crown land from the MNR by Baldwin Township. The purpose of this purchase is to create new, buildable residential housing lots.

If you have received this letter, BALRA encourages you to attend the next council meeting on Monday February 9th at 5:00pm at the Baldwin town hall to learn more about this purchase. Please note: if you would like to speak at the council meeting you will have to request to be a delegate at least one week before the meeting (February 2nd before noon or sooner) by contacting the Baldwin town office. Also, if you have any questions regarding this purchase I encourage you to send them before the meeting to the Baldwin Township CAO - Holly Zahoradny (admin@baldwin.ca) and she will respond.

There will be many different perspectives/opinions on this purchase and I hope for and encourage meaningful/respectable dialogue at the council meeting.

Kindest regards,

Paul Matte

President, BALRA
